Welcome to the online home of The Children’s Bookshop: an independent bookshop in the Bruntsfield area of Edinburgh.

Bright and welcoming, it is where you’ll find a wide range of children’s books ranging from cloth books for our youngest customers to challenging fiction for teenagers. We have the newest titles and more established favourites: Cressida Cowell to Alan Garner, Anthony Horowitz to Joan Aitken. Scottish authors are also well represented including books by Julia Donaldson, Vivian French, Mhairi Hedderwick, Nicola Morgan, Debi Gliori and Gill Arbuthnott. We also pride ourself on an interesting range of art and science titles as well as plenty of books with suggestions for things to make and do. Of course, Fidra titles are well represented, with one wall given over to them…

We are sure that we can find the right book for the keenest of most reticent reader – ‘a personal shopping service for books’ as one harrassed parent descibed us.
